Self Care Ideas

We all have those days where we just aren’t feeling it… our ‘cup’ is empty and life has just been a bit much lately on those days I try to double down on the things that make me feel good and shift my energy into a better space. These are also just great things to do to keep you in a good place in general – find what activities/people/things light you up and bring you joy! Below are some of my favorites!

An important note – simply existing and breathing is enough my. These things are access to shifting your energy not another thing ‘to do’. Ask yourself what you need.. it may be on this list or it may be something unique to you.

1. Do Art – Paint, Draw or Sculpt etc.

2. Put on some great Music and Dance

3. Snuggle up in your favorite comfy clothes and watch a Movie or T.V. show

4. Stretch or do yoga

5. Go swimming (or chill in a lazy river which is my favorite) 

6. Watch the sunrise or sunset

7. Laugh – Put on a comedy special, look up funny memes on Pinterest – anything that makes you smile and laugh

8. Go to a legit bakery or chocolate shop and treat yourself to a yummy gourmet delight

9. Journal

10. Do a Face Mask

11. Meditate

12. Go for a walk

13. Take a long hot Bath or Shower

14. Write a list of at least 10 things you love about yourself.

15. Bake cookies or some other treat

16. Write a sweet text to someone you love

17. Go out for a nice brunch

18. Give a stranger a compliment

19. Give yourself a manicure or pedicure (or go get one!)

20. Take a Nap

21. Get a massage

22. Volunteer

23. Do a random act of kindness for someone

24. Take the day off

25. Call a friend you haven’t talked to in awhile.

26. Read a great book

27. Take yourself on a date

28. Read inspiring quotes or watch an inspiring video

29. Hydrate – tea, fruit infused water, hot chocolate or just good old fashioned water – your body will thank you for it

30. Write your bucket list (and/or do something on your bucket list)

31. Buy yourself flowers

32. Get back in touch with your child side make a fort, play with legos, finger paint etc.

33. Go to an art gallery or museum

34. Listen to a podcast

35. Try an new food or restaurant

36. Get a complimentary makeover at the beauty store
